A service from the Yorkshire-Terrier-Journal

A church service for Yorkies

Numerous dog fans came together in an adjoining room of the inn "Zum Birkeneck", which the members of the Yorkie Club use for their monthly meeting and which had been decorated festively and solemnly, especially for this spiritual occasion.

"Animals do love us although it costs their own forces", says the protestant minister Svantja Arnold in her sermon - "dogs do not put themselves in the centre of attention and they do not take advantage of their friendship to human beings".

After the blessing, prayers were made: God may send more sense of responsibility and long-sightedness to the dog breeders and by that these breeders should not ask too much of their little dogs just because of the greed for profit. In addition to that Svantja Arnold told her audience that all breeders are asked to offer to elder dogs a comfortable old age. More about this topic in the new YTJ.
