Some important points for the prospective buyer

>

Never buy a dog out of pity because you are unhappy with its surroundings.

>

The dog should have its pedigree and vaccination card with all necessary inoculations certified.

>

Never buy a dog without a sales contract, which should confirm that the dog is free of faults or list any faults visible at the time of sale.

>

The sales contract should certify that the dog has the real silken hair that is in accordance with the standard of the breed. Only this hair can be groomed with little effort.

some important points for the prospective buyer

>

Be very cautious if the dog seems too cheap or is offered from abroad – afterwards you have no legal rights. Large-scale commercial breeders pretend to be breeding just as a hobby in order to demand a higher price – sometimes they only pretend to be a small kennel.

>

A well bred, healthy Yorkshire Terrier with certified pedigree will on average cost from 600 - 800 Euro, or even more. Yorkshire Terriers which you wish to show or breed from should not be bought younger than 4 - 6 months of age. At this age, although the price may be higher, you will better be able to ascertain the dog's quality.

>

Stay away from breeders who offer you a mini Yorkshire Terrier! The average weight of a standard Yorkshire Terrier is between 2,000 and 3,100 g. See also: "properly bred..."
