Do we, the dogowners, get fleeced?

No dogowner really thinks about the legitimacy of the dog license fee. However, Germany is one of the few European countries where one has to afford this unjust fee. France, the United Kingdom, Danemark, Sweden, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Greece, Hungary, and Kroatia – they all set a good example – no dog license fee in these countries! And what about our country? The most extreme example is Stuttgart, where one has to pay 108 € for the first dog (no matter whether it’s a small or a big dog), from the second dog on, the fee doubles (= 216 €). So, owning 3 dogs costs the dogowner 540 € there. We think: that’s enough, there’s no worse!...

Get in, please! Not all the Yorkies like driving by car!
With about 10 weeks, the Yorkie baby leaves the breeder and moves into his new owner’s home. Put the baby dog on the back seat, shut the door, put your foot down, and that’s it. That’s one of the numerous mistakes that lead to the problem, that later on, these dogs are afraid of driving by car. Think about your style of driving – a sportily style provokes nothing but fear and insecurity for the whelp (as well as for the front-seat passenger). One has to plan everything, the correct style of driving can be learned. It’s very important that the dog feels that driving by car is something comfortable – something that can also be practiced...

Peak season for ticks and fleas

Since the dogs live with us in our appartments, we have flea season the whole year through. The season of the ticks is limited. For most of the dogs, having fleas is uncomfortable but it doesn’t represent a serious problem for the dog’s health. Exceptions are very young and weak animals which can suffer from anemia when being infected by too much of these parasites... Unlike fleas, ticks, which belong to the spider animals, do have a season from the beginning of march to the end october. Because of the fact that these little nuisances can communicate different dangerous diseases, one has to be very serious about looking for the right protection. There’s a lot to do against thees parasites, but seeking through the dog’s fur after a walk through the wood remains indispensable ...

Puppy sale

The selling of whelps is a special thing. One cannot and should not sell such a young dog to just anybody. It demands a lot of tact and one has to have a good ability to judge character for that the dog, which owes his life to his breeder, moves into a good new home, chosen by the breeder. Refusal of food

You’re making every imaginable effort to buy the best and finest food for your darling The last few days were especially exciting because the appartment had to undergo a full renovation. There was a lot to do for Ricky and his friend: checking the sacks of old clothes - and when they couldn’t reach it easily, they just gnew at it and took out the old clothes ... and nevertheless your dog turns up its nose?
